The students from the minority communities in Telangana could fall under a government “Foreign Education Schemes”. Telangana government has allocated Rs. 1105 Cr. for the financial year 2015-16, 425 Cr has been allocated for fast scheme, while Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced a hefty sum of Rs 25 Cr to be reserved to provide loan to minority students to study abroad. Mr.Syed Omer Jaleel, Special Secretary Welfare said, “250 students will be provided loan to study abroad and Minority Welfare Department will pay special attention on complete disbursement of the budget”. Under this scheme students would be able to study in foreign universities for their higher studies. The scheme is expected to get formalized by the end of this month, as pointed out by the sources in the Telangana government.

Post Matric Scholarships

Post Metric Scholarship will be sanctioned to the Economically Backward Minority students whose parents/ guardians annual income does not exceeds Rs 1 lakh per annum. The post metric scholarship will be sanctioned to the minority students of Intermediate, Graduation, Post Graduation and Professional Courses

Pre Metric Scholarship

Pre Metric scholarship will be sanctioned to the Economically Backward Minority students studying in class 6th to 10th whose parent/guardian income is below Rs 1 lakh per annum. The rates of Scholarship are as follows:

Class Scholarship Amount
6th to 8th Class Rs 600 per annum
IX to X Class Rs 800 per annum

Central Government Scholarship

Merit cum Means Based Scholarship for Students Belonging to the Minority Communities Merit cum Means based scholarships will be awarded to the students pursuing technical or professional courses at Under Graduate/Post graduate level in an Institution recognized by an appropriate authority
